A shopping centre should be regarded as a friendly and attractive place. At the same time, it should be designed in such a manner so that, with its characteristic form and retail function, it is integrated in an appropriate way with its surroundings. The design represents a combination of attractive aesthetics, a clear functional layout and respect for the valuable natural context.

Galeria Warmińska Shopping Centre is located at a unique point of connection between the natural and urban spaces. This dialogue is a starting point for the idea behind the design and adopted solutions – the character of architecture is determined by the contact of the organic “language of nature” and the utilitarian “language of man”.

The front elevation is the hallmark of the Centre. The elements forming the elevation are the structures that provide reference to the building tradition of Olsztyn – the half-timbered and stone walls. The structures and development of the front yards emphasize the main entrances, create a unique character of the entire Centre, advertise its retail space and, in an easy way, lead inside it. The motif of the organic skin of the front masses is continued through the motifs applied in the design of the space of the Main Court and Food Court, where the interior seamlessly connects with the recreational zone. The site development from the side of the hill, with the amphitheatre, playing fields and playgrounds has been designed as the main recreational space for the clients.

The design, through the functional and aesthetical solutions applied, displays a modern approach, which is unique in Poland yet used around the world, to designing shopping centres.
